Cleveland-From their earliest days, motion pictures were used to recreate the truth, whether in reenactments of wars and historical events or in intimate portraits of the lives of famous, and infamous, people.
In September, the Cleveland Cinematheque will show two films based in reality, although one takes a more realistic look at the events it portrays.
On September 6 and 7, they will screen Caravaggio, the late Derek Jarman's surreal masterpiece on the life of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio, one of the last painters of the Italian Renais-
sance.
All of Jarman's films are lush, sometimes psychedelic looks at the world. Jarman himself died in 1994 of AIDS-related complications, leaving behind almost 30 films and music videos and a handful of books on both

his life and film in general.
The second film, playing Sept. 13-15, is Murderous Maids (Les Blessures Assassines), directed by Jean-Pierre Denis.
Murderous Maids tells the story of Christine Papin, a repressed young lesbian forced into servitude in other people's homes by her mother. Christine connives to get her sister Léa hired at the same jobs she has, both to be near her and protect her from their less-thancaring mother.
The Papin girls' devotion to each other is matched only by Christine's fiery spirit, which eventually leads the duo into a spiral of conflict and death.
The Cinematheque is located inside the Cleveland Institute of Art at 11141 East Boulevard in University Circle. Screenings are $7, $4 for Cinematheque members and CIA students. For more information, call 216-421-7450, or log onto www.cia.edu/ cinematheque.
Why not spend every Sunday night with a bunch of hot guys?
Here's what audiences say:
"I was completely blown away. I fell in love Saturday night—not with a person, but with a passion I thought was long-since buried. Thank you. I love being in love."
"I laughed, giggled, squealed, clapped, stomped my feet, and cried at least twice. Your shows always bring out a range of emotions for me because of the music you choose; it represents life and its rainbow of experiences."
"You guys are something in the first act I laughed, then I cried, then I was amazed. By the second act, I didn't know WHAT you were going to do to me!."
"Splendid music ... Outlandish humor... Community-building energy. What a treat! And I must acknowledge, what an incredibly handsome bunch of guys... WOW!”
